What's RLJ & Why RLJ?

What is RLJ?

RLJ, is one of the acronym that I'm connected to the most when compared to other acronyms in my life span, each and every cells in my body is aware of what is RLJ and what made RLJ a unique. RLJ is a symbol of trust that's been developed/built from the scratch for about 6-7 decades, I'm sure developing trust is one of the most hard part in this world and maintaining that same trust also requires same amount of contributions. Though RLJ is very much associated to my family, when I wanted to choose my carrier I have decided not get into RLJ for a while and I'm still staying away from it. Why I'm stay away? when it has its own charisma, because of the obsession & possessiveness that my father and grandfather holds with it and during my late teens & early 20's I was a bit skeptical to get myself associated along with them, as they had devoted their life entirely for it without any rest or entertainment thinking only to get RLJ running in full throttle. 

One side they kept running it on full throttle and at other side I had an escape velocity that was high enough not to get influenced from them and run RLJ. To keep the escape velocity as constant I have chosen education as a primary reason, that's how I went into engineering undergraduate, then pursued post graduation again in engineering. After which I need to correct my course so that the velocity is maintained ;), the next astra that I chose was lucrative jobs hmmmm, when compared to RLJ the job that I got was not that lucrative but still it was in 70-80th percentile in IT job market and convinced them then you know what? I'm maintaining the same velocity for the past 13+ years.

OMG, it's been two para I'm keep on blaberring about RLJ, RLJ, RLJ and you might have been thinking what is that RLJ? RLJ is RamaLakshmi Jewellery, a shop that's been established by grandfather in my native, he is in his 86th year and treating my dad as a kid in teen (like my dad treats me and my daughter's teenage is around about the corner). 

Having said that am I going to speak about that RLJ here? if I do then the velocity that I'm maintaining for the past 13+ years would be changed and I'll be pulled there :D. One day I'll be eventually but, RLJ in this blog series would have the observations of course the course titled MOB (Micro Organizational Behaviour) that I have signed up IIT-Madras for my Executive MBA. The RLJ here would abbreviate to Reflective Learning Journal.  


Why RLJ?

To be very frank it's one of the requirements/assessment that this course has and a significant portion of  marks (30 out of 100) can be obtained by maintaining this blogs. But, for the sake of course objective do I need to maintain the blog and post things here and no other alternative options available for folks who are not that tech savvy to create blogs? There is and why I'm not choosing that way? Most of you who're aware of me knows that I believe in the best mix of learning, is a combination of active and passive modes and whenever time permits I write and encourage to write (might be as a compulsion). I wanted to practice the same here, through this blogs I'll try my level best to convey my reflections that I'm learning in the course and help you as well with some passive learnings. 

Will start with MOB by a possessive teacher.

Roller Coaster

DM

In social media era, when I say DM then our minds would definitely think about Direct Message. Unfortunately, I'm going to reflect my thought on D ecision M aking in this post as part of reflective journal for session - 7 & session - 8. Everyone of us irrespective of our age we would have made few decisions in our life knowingly or unknowingly and the decision to be taken might be as big as rolling out a reform in a country or it can be choosing one toy over other by a child. The following are few questions and answers that I perceive with respect to decision making. Is it easy to decide? I would say yes, no and maybe  Will my decision be constant irrespective of number of time(s) I need to decide? May be no from my side. Will someone collide with our decision given the same parameters? there is a high probability for collision. So the question is why there is a lot of uncertainty with respect to DM? I think its basically because, before we decide, an array of factors...
